Welcome to FNQ Volunteers Inc.
VExpo 2019 (Volunteer Expo)

National Student Volunteer Week

National Student Volunteer Week (NSVW) aspires to challenge and celebrate young people who are striving to make change through volunteering.

On 13-19 August 2018, a wide variety of events, activities, forums and awareness-raising campaigns led by higher education providers and schools will take place nationwide. This unique opportunity offers education providers the chance to celebrate, showcase and challenge their student volunteers.

This year FNQ Volunteers Inc. participated in NSVW by showcasing volunteering at JCU Campus Smithfield in Cairns.

There was a good degree of interest in volunteering from the students who trailed past the FNQVI stall.

This event was held in conjunction with the Live at Lunch event at James Cook University Cairns.

From Suzanne McIntyre, Career Information Officer at JCU Smithfled:

“Thank you very much for attending our Live at Lunch event at James Cook University Cairns.  I hope the short time you were here was valuable in getting the message out about the benefits of Volunteering.

We have two more events scheduled for this year:

  • Tuesday, 11 September – 10.30 am – 12.30 pm
  • Tuesday, 15 October – 10.30 am – 12.30 pm

Both events will feature free food and music which always seems to attract students.”
