FNQVI Board Profile 2018-2019

Board Members were re-elected for 2018 – 2019

24th October 2018, the Annual General Meeting for the previous 2017-18 financial year was held.

From the Board Annette, Vanessa and Dominic were present, plus several staff from FNQ Volunteers Inc.

Liz Jorgensen from The Pyjama Foundation, and Mihi Harema from TAFE North attended representing Members.

Annette Shepard delivered the Presidents’ Report to the meeting, thanking all those who had made this year another success for this Cairns institution. Dominic de Vries delivered the Treasurer’s Report.

The 2017-18 board then stood down, and FNQVI Services Coordinator Oni Vuniyaro announced the nominations for the 2018-19 board.
Treasurer Dominic stated at the meeting he will be retiring from the Board at the end of 2018-19 FY.

Fantastic light refreshments (from Anglicare) and good conversations were enjoyed by all after the AGM.

Since then, John Maschke has joined the Board.

Public Health Consultant and a member of the Touch for Health Instruction Association.

Annette’s qualifications include a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences.

Dominic de Vries

Self employed consultant in E-Commerce and alternative energy projects, Dominic has an extensive background in management with several group companies and has held positions on the Board of various companies in Europe.

Vanessa ManuraVanessa Maruna

Vanessa is a Cairns based lawyer. Vanessa has skills in strategic planning, negotiation, change management, project management, business strategy, contract negotiation, public speaking to mention only a few.

John Hartigan - AGM 2015John Hartigan

John Hartigan has experience in Workplace Mediation, Executive Coaching and in the application of DISC and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

In his corporate career, John has held key roles in Employee Relations National Australia Bank, Group Manager—BTR Automotive and other Senior Management positions, locally and overseas, with companies such as Rio Tinto, Esso Australia and Orica.

Joanna is a HR Consultant. She does professional resumes, job applications, interview skills training and general HR consulting. Currently Jo is working in the role of providing CBC Staff Selection clients a range of HR services: selection criteria assessment and reporting, interview panels, reference checking and outplacement services.
John Maschke

John Maschke is a self-employed consultant who has had many senior management and leadership positions within the RAN and in the wider community. He is Aboriginal and identifies as a member of the Nyoongar Nation (Gnaala Karla Booja Region) of S.W. Australia.

John has experience as a director within not-for-profit organisations (Australasian Hydrographic Society, Spatial Sciences institute), and has been an executive director of an overseas maritime logistics company (Ocean Logistics Limited (Vanuatu)). He is currently the President of a local RSL Sub-branch in Cairns. John’s experience includes conference and seminar organising, operations management, project management, policy development, capacity building, international relationships and strategic planning. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, and a Fellow of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute.
