FNQVI Board Profile

Board Members elected for 2015 – 2016

4th November 2015, the Annual General Meeting covering the 2014-15 financial year was held.

Present were FNQVI Member representatives from Living Options, Cairns Meals on Wheels, and Centacare Migrant Services, along with several FNQVI volunteer staff members.

Cairns Regional Councillors Max O’Halloran, Cathy Zeiger, and Greg Fennell also attended, and Federal MP for Leichhardt Warren Entsch made a late appearance due to his busy schedule.

Annette Shepard delivered the presidents address to the meeting, thanking all those who had made this year another success for this Cairns institution. Dominic de Vries delivered the Treasurer’s Report.

The 2014-15 board stood down, and FNQVI Services Coordinator Oni Vuniyaro announced the nominations for the 2015-16 board.

Annette Sheppard, Dominic De Vries, Jeanette Olle, Tracey Dickinson were re-elected, and new nominees John Hartigan, Venessa Manura, and Kurt Pudkins were successful with their nominations.

Retiring this year were Rev Doug Foster, Judith Bowman and Joanna Cray.  The board wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to those retiring members, and wish them the very best in the future. Like all volunteers, their contribution to the Board is truly appreciated.

Public Health Consultant and a member of the Touch for Health Instruction Association.

Annette’s qualifications include a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences.

Dominic De Vries - AGM 2015Dominic de Vries

Self employed consultant in E-Commerce and alternative energy projects, Dominic has an extensive background in management with several group companies and has held positions on the Board of various companies in Europe.

Jeannette is a long time member of FNQ Volunteers and and has been a Board Member for several years.

Tracey Dickinson

Tracey is a former volunteer with the previous FNQVI team, and is  now a JCU Associate Lecturer in the Field Education.

Currently studying a PhD at James Cook University on the topic of Exploring the Development of Critical Reflection and Lifelong Learning Skills through E-Portfolios, Tracey was first elected to the Board in Dec 2014.

Vanessa ManuraVanessa Manura

Vanessa is a Cairns based lawyer. Vanessa has skills in strategic planning, negotiation, change management, project management, business strategy, contract negotiation, public speaking to mention only a few.

Kurt Pudkins AGM 2015Kurt Pudniks

A Cairns local born and educated, Kurt was St. Augustine’s College Dux 1999, and graduated from the Australian National University (ANU) with BE(Hons) BSc(Hons) in 2005.  His early work experience included Navy Platform Systems in Canberra on vulnerability studies of the Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) and ANZAC Class Frigates, and Aurora Energy in Tasmania on network planning of the electrical power distribution network.  Achieving MIEAust CPEng in 2010, Kurt is the Director of Digital Physics Pty Ltd, and works as a systems engineering and computational science consultant.  He returned to Cairns in 2013 as the Defence Materiel Office (DMO) Certification Engineer supporting Navy Hydrographic Group, and from July 2014 seeks to offer further professional services to the Cairns region in partnership with local businesses.

John Hartigan - AGM 2015John Hartigan

John Hartigan has experience in Workplace Mediation, Executive Coaching and in the application of DISC and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

In his corporate career, John has held key roles in Employee Relations National Australia Bank, Group Manager—BTR Automotive and other Senior Management positions, locally and overseas, with companies such as Rio Tinto, Esso Australia and Orica.
